Strong Storms Affecting Chilton And Coosa Counties

At 4:16 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Higgins Ferry Park, or 10 miles east of Clanton, moving northeast at 50 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

A SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY has been issued for Southeastern Chilton and Coosa counties until 50 MPH.

Locations impacted include…
Clanton, Goodwater, Rockford, Kellyton, Weogufka, Stewartville, Hanover, Lyle, Dollar, Bradford, Bentleyville, Welona, Unity, Parkdale, Moriah, Hatchet, Crewsville, Higgins Ferry Park, Verbena and Mitchell Dam.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
