Strong Storms Affecting Perry and Dallas Counties

SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR NORTHEASTERN PERRY AND NORTHERN DALLAS COUNTIES UNTIL 7:45 PM CDT

At 6:54 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles east of Vaiden, or 8 miles southeast of Marion, moving northeast at 25 mph. Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include…
Marion, Vaiden, Paul M Grist State Park, Potter Station, Valley Creek Junction, Plantersville, Suttle, Radford, Sprott, Hamburg and Summerfield.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
