Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Parts of Talladega, Shelby, & St. Clair Counties Until 9AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Western Talladega County in east central Alabama…
Shelby County in Alabama…
Southwestern St. Clair County in Alabama…

* Until 900 AM CDT

* At 553 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to continuous
rain showers. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. These showers continue to back build over the
same area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Hoover, Alabaster, Pelham, Helena, Talladega, Sylacauga, Pell City,
Calera, Chelsea, Montevallo, Childersburg, Columbiana, Wilsonville,
Talladega Springs, Lincoln, Indian Springs Village, Riverside,
Vincent, Harpersville and Westover.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
