Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Parts of Blount & Jefferson Counties Until 9:15AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas
for…
Southern Blount County in Alabama…
Jefferson County in Alabama…

* Until 915 AM CDT

* At 720 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due was
occurring across the area with one to two inches in localized
areas during the past two hours. An additional one to two inches
is possible in localized areas during the next two hours. This
will cause some overflowing of poor drainage areas resulting in
localized minor flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Mountain
Brook, Trussville, Helena, Hueytown, Gardendale, Irondale, Leeds,
Moody, Fairfield, Fultondale, Oneonta, Sumiton, Cleveland,
Pinson-Clay-chalkv and Dallas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
