UPDATE: KBMX Radar Has Decided To Take A Holiday On The 4th

UPDATE: Radar data are flowing once again from KBMX, and the official word from the NWS Birmingham office is that the issue has been resolved.

The National Weather Service Radar that services the Birmingham metropolitan area (KBMX) has unexpectedly quit working with the last hour. Technicians have been notified and are on their way to diagnose and to see if the problem can be quickly resolved. These radars can be used as backups for KBMX…

Columbus, Mississippi – KGWX
Huntsville, Alabama – KHTX
Montgomery, Alabama (Maxwell AFB) – KMXX
