The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
    Southern Jefferson County in Alabama…

* Until 1030 AM CDT

* At 728 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain which will likely cause flooding. Over the past 24 hours, over 4 inches of rain have fallen in some locations within the warned area. Bessemer, Hueytown, and Hoover will be the most prone to flooding.

* Some locations that will likely experience flooding include…
    Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer, Homewood, Mountain
    Brook, Helena, Hueytown, Fairfield, Pleasant Grove, Midfield, Brighton, Lipscomb and Sylvan Springs.
