Mulberry Fork Flooding

Thanks to Sue Poe for these images taken in West Blount county along Ricetown Road. She writes:

“Mulberry is out of its banks. I think the drought may be over!”

And, some additional information…

“My wife posted some pics of the Mulberry flooding the metal bridge near our
house. I noticed someone asked where this bridge was. I could answer them
directly, but I’d like for everyone to understand that there is a 60 foot
rock piling below the bridge in the picture, which means the water is
presently that high. Also, when we first moved here, we had just had the
100 year flood in ?1992? And there was a large amount of leaves, limbs and
debris still stuck in the TOP of the metal truss of the bridge! That’s
about 20 feet higher than this flood.

There actually used to be a covered bridge in this location – Hwy 91 and Hwy 5 used to be linked via this bridge. The bridge burned down and the metal bridge replaced it. But a truck ran through the side of the new bridge and it was never repaired.

Would you mind posting this picture again and the info in quotations at the
end of this email to let everyone fully understand how deep the water is in
this picture? Also, I included the location of the bridge, since someone
said it was in Garden City which is 10 miles away and not that bridge.”
