Wind Impact Forecast for Central Alabama Lessened a Bit

The potential impact of the winds has lessened a bit as Nate has continued to weaken this morning. Trees are down all across the area already, and more will fall as we go through the morning. 71,000 Alabama Power customers are without power including 54,000 in th eMobile area and about 10,500 across the middle part of the state.

Tropical storm warnings remain in effect across many counties of Central Alabama with wind advisories in the rest of the counties.

A tornado watch is in effect for much of South Alabama as well.
