Calm Weather Pattern Continues Into Next Week

| November 24, 2017 @ 4:25 pm

**No afternoon Weather Xtreme video today… back to the two a day schedule Monday**

DRY PATTERN: This has been a delightful “Black Friday” across Alabama with ample sunshine and temperatures in the 60s this afternoon. The weather won’t change much over the weekend, but we will see some mid and high level clouds tomorrow as a surface front approaches. The air in the low levels will be very dry, and there is no chance of significant rain. With a partly sunny sky we will enjoy a high in the 62-65 degree range.

And, on Sunday, a new supply of dry air arrives. The day will be sunny with a high not too far from 60.

HIGH SCHOOL PLAYOFF GAMES TONIGHT: Mostly fair with temperatures falling from the mid 50s at kickoff into the 40s during the second half of the games.

IRON BOWL: A fine day for the big game in Auburn tomorrow (2:30p CT kickoff at Jordan-Hare Stadium)… partly sunny with temperatures falling from the mid 60s at kickoff into the 50s by the second half.

UAB will host UTEP at Legion Field tomorrow (12p CT kickoff)… a partly sunny sky with temperatures rising from near 60 at kickoff, into the mid 60s by the second half.

NEXT WEEK: Dry weather continues Monday through Wednesday with highs in the 60s, possibly touching 70 by Wednesday. A cold front could squeeze out a few isolated showers Thursday, then cooler air follows Friday with highs back in the 50s. Any rain Thursday will be light and spotty.

VOODOO LAND: No skill in a specific forecast beyond seven days, but the global models continue to suggest a pattern that favors more precipitation across the Deep South during the month of December.

TROPICS: The 2017 Atlantic hurricane season ends in 6 days, and the Atlantic basin is very quiet.

My next Weather Xtreme video will be posted Monday morning by 7:00… Brian Peters will have the video updates tomorrow and Sunday. Enjoy the weekend!
