Thanks to Darrell Robins of Double Springs for these images… he writes:

“Mr Spann, My family and I took a trip to the Mountains early this week. We arrived just in time for the big snow, that caused many schools in the area to close for the whole week. The snow was unbelievable and it was very cold also. Snow ranged from about 2″ in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge to 6″ in Cades Cove and up to 10-14″ at Newfound Gap. The road to Cherokee and Newfound Gap was closed all week, but was opened yesterday afternoon. The drive was beautiful, I was surprised to see snow drifts as deep as 2-3 feet. I hope you enjoy the pictures.”
