Alabama Early Tonight
It is generally a wet evening across Alabama although everybody is not getting rain.
Based on radar returns at 7:20 pm, I would estimate that about 75% of the state is getting wet.
Much of the rain is light.
Most of the heavier rain (moderate with some spots heavy) extended fromt about Livingston and Demopolis on the west side of the state eastward to about Montgomery and Phenix City.
Moving generally east.
No lightning indicated, however there was a small cluster of thunderstorms over SE Mississippi that was wanting to move into SW Alabama.
No real heavy amounts of rain so far. However, a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was posted early this afternoon for parts of Mobile and Baldwin County. These amounts:
0.08 Marion
0.04 Auburn
0.66 Downtown Mobile (Brookley Field)
0.48 Mobile Regional Airport
0.20 Montgomery/Dannelly Field
0.09 Troy
Trace Birmingham Airport
The rain will be ending Saturday morning.
75 was one of the warmest temperatures in Alabama this afternoon–at Dothan in the SE part of the state.
