Wednesday Brought Forth Even More Record Highs In Alabama

Well, the ole Donna Reed animated GIF has been brought back out this evening as there were plenty of record highs set today across North and Central Alabama. Here is the list of today’s record breakers…

Record High Temperature Set At Birmingham
Today’s high temperature at Birmingham reached 83 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 78 degrees set back in 1922.

Record High Temperature Set At Tuscaloosa
Today’s high temperature at Tuscaloosa reached 83 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 79 degrees set back in 2005.

Record High Temperature Set At Anniston
Today’s high temperature at Anniston reached 80 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 75 degrees set back in 2011.

Record High Temperature Set At Montgomery
Today’s high temperature at Montgomery reached 85 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 81 degrees set back in 2011.

Record High Temperature Set At Huntsville
Today’s high temperature at Birmingham reached 81 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 76 degrees set back in 1922.

Record High Temperature Set At Muscle Shoals
Today’s high temperature at Muscle Shoals reached 80 degrees, breaking the previous record high of 76 degrees set back in 1993.

Other Interesting Tidbits
Huntsville also set a new record high minimum temperature for today, recording a morning low temperature of 68 degrees. That reading blasted the old record of 58 degrees set just one year ago.

Birmingham’s high temperature of 83 degrees tied the warmest February high on record for the city. Before today, 83 degrees had been reached on three previous occasions… 2/23/1996, 2/13/1962, and 2/8/1918.

Montgomery’s high temperature of 85 degrees tied the warmest February high on record for the city. Before today, 85 degrees had been reached just once before, on February 13, 1962.
