The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has extended the

* Flood Warning for…
     Southwestern Madison County in north central Alabama…

* Until 1000 AM CST Thursday

* At 358 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
     that between 2 and 3 inches of rain fell across western Madison
     County yesterday. Although the rain has temporarily subsided,
     excessive runoff has resulted in a continuation of flooding along
     Indian Creek. Widespread moderate to locally heavy rainfall is
     expected later this morning, and this will lead to additional
     flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
     Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana,
     Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

     Southwestern Madison County in north central Alabama…

* Until 400 AM CST Thursday

* At 918 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
     that 2 to 3 inches of rain has fallen across western Madison
     County today. This heavy rainfall has pushed Indian Creek above
     flood and well out of its bank. Shortly after 900 PM, the stage at
     Indian Creek at Madison was 8.24 feet and rising rapidly. Flood
     stage is 7.5 feet.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
     Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana,
     Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

At 707 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated an area of very heavy rainfall occurring in the Indian Creek Basin. Radar estimates show that upward of two inches of rain has fallen in this area with very heavy rainfall currently occurring in the area. Additional rainfall of one to locally two inches will cause Indian Creek to push well above flood stage this evening. Some locations that will experience flooding include… Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana, Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

     Southwestern Madison County in north central Alabama…

* Until 1000 PM CST Wednesday

* At 338 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
     that between one and a half to two and a half inches of rain has
     fallen across portions of southwestern Madison County. As a
     result, runoff from this heavy rain is causing Indian Creek in
     Madison to rise rapidly. Flood Stage is 7.5 feet, and the current
     observation is 7 feet and rising. The creek should surpass flood
     stage soon. Additional rainfall later this evening and especially
     overnight will further exacerbate flooding conerns from Harvest
     southward through Providence at Highway 72, and southward along
     the Indian Creek Greenway south to Interstate 565.

* At 1005 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that betwen one and a half and upwards of two inches of rain has fallen since midnight across portions of southwestern Madison
    County. As a result, runoff from this heavy rain is causing Indian
    Creek in Madison to rise rapidly. Flood Stage is 7.5 feet, and the current observation is 7 feet and rapidly rising. The creek should surpass flood stage soon. Additional rainfall later today and especially overnight will further exacerbate flooding conerns from
    Harvest southward through Providence at Highway 72, and southward along the Indian Creek Greenway south to Interstate 565.
