Still A Little Cool At Midday, But What A Tuesday So Far

| April 10, 2018 @ 11:35 am

Skies are continuing to clear out across Central Alabama as we are making the run up to the noon hour. Most of the area is clear at this point, with only some cumulus clouds floating overhead in the east and down into the southern parts. Those clouds are not hurting the temperatures at this point, as we are running in the lower 60s in the north to the mid-60s in the south. Birmingham was sitting at 66 degrees as of 11:30 AM.

For the remainder of the day, we’ll continue to have mainly clear skies and nice temperatures. Afternoon highs warm up into the mid-60s to the lower 70s throughout the area. Those mostly clear skies will continue into tonight and throughout the overnight hours. Lows will dip down into the upper 30s to the mid-40s. A few of the colder spots could see some frost as they may reach the lower to mid-30s for a short period of time, but not long enough to damage any sensitive plants.

Wednesday’s weather will start off a little chilly but will warm nicely underneath mostly sunny skies. Afternoon highs will be up in the lower to mid-70s throughout Central Alabama, as ridging has taken over the weather pattern for the next couple of days. Clear skies and cool temperatures can be expected for tomorrow night, with lows dipping down into the 40s throughout the area.
