It is too far out to have a complete specific forecast for the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama weekend as it is nine days away, but we can give you a generalized idea on what we can expect weather-wise for the event.

At this point, Friday will be an absolutely perfect day to spend at the track. Sunny skies and mild temperatures will greet the fans at Barber Motorsports Park as the event weekend kicks off. After a rather cool morning starting off in the upper 40s and sunrise, afternoon highs look to reach the mid 70s. Winds may be cool out of the north averaging around 2-7 MPH.

Saturday’s weather appears to be decent as well, with a mix of sun and clouds and slightly warmer temperatures. After a cool morning starting off in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees at sunrise, highs look to top out in the upper 70s. Winds shift throughout the day from out of the east to out of the southeast averaging 5-10 MPH. No chance of rain at this point, but you may notice some clouds starting to build off to the west by the end of the event day.

Unfortunately, Sunday’s weather at the track looks to be starting off with showers and thunderstorms. The good news is that they appear to end just before the afternoon starts, and before the main event… The Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Skies will be cloudy after that and temperatures will slowly start to fall. We’ll start off the day a little warmer in the mid-50s at daybreak and top out in the mid-70s. It looks to be breezy at times with winds out of the south to the southeast at 5-15 MPH. At this point, we’ll go with a 50/50 chance of showers and storms. I’ll nail that down as we get closer to the event weekend.
