Cold Passes Through Tonight Mostly Dry

| April 18, 2018 @ 3:13 pm

WARM SPRING DAY: Temperatures are hovering right around 80 degrees across the great state of Alabama this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine through scattered clouds. A cold front will pass through tonight… it could squeeze out a few isolated showers, but moisture is very limited, and most communities will stay dry.

TOMORROW/FRIDAY: Tomorrow will be a sunny, breezy, and noticeably cooler day with a high between 62 and 65 degrees… and by Friday morning some of the colder pockets across North/Central Alabama could see more scattered, light frost with lows down in the 30s (larger cities will be closer to 40). Friday will be a sunny day with a high between 67 and 70 degrees.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday looks fantastic with ample sunshine and a high in the low to mid 70s. However, clouds roll in quickly Saturday night, and Sunday will be a wet day. The latest run of the GFS shows rain moving in early in the day, with a soaking rain through the morning and afternoon. The air will be stable with temperatures in the 60s as the surface low will pass to the south; so no severe storms and probably very little thunder. Just a good ole fashioned rainy day; rain amounts of 1-2″ are likely Sunday and Sunday night.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama’s annual spring “A Day” game is Saturday at 1:00 at Bryant Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa… it will be a perfect day for the game. With a sunny sky, temperatures will rise from the low 70s at kickoff into the mid 70s by the second half. There is no risk of rain.

NEXT WEEK: Monday will be cloudy and cool with a chance of lingering showers, then the rest of the week looks mostly dry and quiet with highs back in the 70s. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
