Can’t Beat the Next Few Days

| April 29, 2018 @ 1:52 pm

You probably didn’t notice the cold front that came through last night, because there was no moisture associated with it, hence no clouds and no precipitation.

Temperatures are running 8-10 degrees cooler than those of yesterday. Dewpoints are lower as well, giving the air a refreshing feel.

Winds are out of the north-northwest at 10-15 mph with occasional gusts to over 20 mph.

But the sun is a bright spring sun, with UV values running around 6, which is in the high category. So if you are out playing or working in the sun today, don’t forget the hat and sunscreen.

Tonight will be another of those perfect sleep with the windows open nights.

Now your Weatheradio won’t go off for this alert, but a Perfect Weather Warning has been issued by The Weather Factory for all of central Alabama for tomorrow. Skies will be clear again with highs in the upper 70s generally. Dewpoints will be in the middle 40s and winds will have switched around to the southeast again. Make sure to get out and enjoy the fine weather if you can.

Temperatures will be warming up as we go through the week, with highs warming into the lower and middle 80s starting Tuesday and running through Friday. Lows will warm to near 60F by Wednesday morning.

The next chance of rain and storms will come late Friday as a weakening cold front pushes into the state. It does not look like a significant severe weather threat at this time, but instability values will be around 1,000 joules/kg as it rolls into Alabama, so it is not out of the question.
