Only a few clouds across Southeast Alabama as we approach the noon hour here in Alabama. We should be hitting the convective temperature (92F) soon though, which will allow for the formation of a few fair weather cumulus clouds.

Lots of clouds over Florida to the northeast of a developing mid-level trough of low pressure that will spin up a surface low as well and become our next weather maker as it moves northwest and north in coming days.

But for today, hot sunshine, with near-record temperatures in the lower and middle 90s across the area. Rare but not unprecedented for May. There is no chance for rain across Central Alabama until Tuesday, and showers will be in the forecast beginning then and lasting into the weekend.

Seven day forecasted rainfall totals from the WPC

Seven-day rainfall amounts will range from one inch over West Alabama to nearly three inches along the Georgia border.
