Much of Alabama wet again as dawn gets closer early on this Monday morning.

Rain became widespread during th night although the extreme NW counties getting very little.

The precipitation was moving NE but the wide band of rain and showers was also shifting more slowly toward the SE.

Heaviest was over the SE part of the state but some more moderate to heavy showers over SE Louisiana and and South Central Mississippi moving NE toward Alabama.

There are some thunderstorms involved this time. Not many, and most were confined to the Mobile/Pensacola area near the coast.

In the Birmingham area, and much of North and Central Alabama, the rain should diminish by mid day.

So far, at Birmingham Airport, only about 1/3 inch of rain with this new event.

This has been a good old fashioned soaking rain for much of Alabama the last few days. Please don’t ask me what a “new-fashioned” soaker is because I don’t know.
