An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

WET BEGINNING: One last short wave has pushed light rain up into North-Central Alabama this morning; we will have periods of rain through midday, with additional rain amounts generally in the one-quarter inch range. The rain should be gone by mid-afternoon, and the sky will clear tonight.

REST OF THE WEEK: Generally speaking, we are looking at a benign weather pattern for the rest of the week. The weather tomorrow and Wednesday will be fantastic with ample sunshine and highs in the mid 70s. A surface boundary will push through here on Thursday, but with only limited moisture there is just a small risk of a shower. Then, slightly cooler air settles in here Friday with highs back in the mid 60s.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEEKEND: Dry and pleasant weather is the story for Saturday and Sunday; lots of sunshine with highs mostly in the mid to upper 60s; lows will be in the 40s. Monday of next week looks dry as well.

VOODOO LAND: At this point no sign of any major late season freeze or severe weather threat through the rest of March. This, of course, could change, but for now things look nice and quiet for the rest of the month.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. NOTE: We will record this week’s episode tomorrow night, not tonight…
