Power line reported down on East Meighan Blvd in Gadsden, blocking westbound lanes.

Tree down on Garmon Road in the Whorton’s Bend Community.

In East Alabama, a severe thunderstorm warning remain in effect for southeastern Clay and northern Tallapoosa Counties. The action has passed Ashland. It is heading toward Wedowee. Be in a safe place as these storms approach.

We will get a break in the action through the afternoon and evening. More showers and storms will develop overnight, but they may stay south of Birmingham. We will have to wait and see. This storm system is full of surprises but we have been fortunate so far.

The final round should come Friday night into Saturday morning. This could be a more significant severe weather producing round.

2.01 inches of rain at the Birmingham Airport so far, including 0.75 inches in just one hour between 5 and 6 a.m.
