Late Morning Notes…

*We are planning an update/briefing on the live stream at 1:00 this afternoon… access that here on the blog. Our Storm Alert radar is always on the stream when we are not using it for severe weather or breaking news coverage.

*It looks like the main convective mass on the Gulf will be moving east, allowing for a uninterrupted flow from the south later today into tonight, and all modes of severe weather will remain possible for much of Alabama. Initially, the concern will be from any discrete cells that form during the peak of the afternoon heating and potential tornado activity. There are some decent breaks now in the overcast over Northwest Alabama and the Tennessee Valley, and if the clouds continue to erode we should see temperatures pushing well into the 70s this afternoon, helping to break the cap.

*A QLCS should race through the state tonight with potential for damaging wind. This line of storms could also have a few isolated embedded tornadoes.

*On Twitter, when reporting severe weather today, be sure and use the tag #alwx. I suggest using the program Tweetdeck for Twitter reports since you can set up search columns easily. Here are our Twitter accounts you can follow:
