The Flash Flood Watch Has Been Reduced By A Few Counties

| August 1, 2018 @ 3:53 pm

The Flash Flood Watch for a portion of Central Alabama has been canceled. While there may be additional thunderstorms in the western half of Central Alabama over the next 24 hours, they should be isolated and relatively short-lived. As a result, the flash flood threat for this area has diminished.

The canceled counties are Bibb, Blount, Dallas, Jefferson, and Perry.

The Flash Flood Watch continues until 7:00 PM Thursday for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Etowah, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, and Tallapoosa counties.

More bouts of moderate to heavy rain from showers and thunderstorms expected over the next 24 hours and may lead to flash flooding.
