Anyone remember this one by the Stones?

“Well I told you once and I told you twice
But ya never listen to my advice
You dont try very hard to please me
With what you know it should be easy

Well this could be the last time
This could be the last time
Maybe the last time
I dont know. oh no. oh no”

I do think this is the last time we have to worry about a freeze until the time the pumpkins come out late this year. No promise, of course, but no sign of any more really cold air through the rest of April.

BIG RANGE: Growers are pretty good at understanding how terrain plays a role in low temperature forecasts on a radiational cooling night like this with a clear sky and light wind (it will be light after midnight). I continue to believe the range will be from 22 for the coldest valleys to 38 on the ridge tops above 1,500 feet. Most places should wind up in the 28 to 32 degree range, and a freeze warning remains in effect for most of the state.

WARMER DAYS: We rise into the 60s tomorrow, with 70s returning on Thursday. To the west, severe storms are possible Thursday in the broad area from Houston to Cape Girardeau, including places like Shreveport, Little Rock, and Tulsa. This storm system will bring rain and storms to Alabama on Friday, but for now our severe weather risk looks marginal with limited instability and dynamic lift. Rain amounts of around one-half inch are likely Friday.

EASTER WEEKEND: Saturday promises to be a nice day, with the sky becoming mostly sunny and a high in the low 70s. The daytime hours on Easter Sunday should be dry, with a high in the mid 70s. However, to the west, a significant severe weather event is possible Sunday afternoon around the Ark-La-Tex region, and that storm system will bring a chance of strong to severe thunderstorms to Alabama by Sunday night into early Monday.

The 12Z GFS is faster with the system, and hints the best chance of active weather in Alabama will come from 6:00 p.m. Sunday through 6:00 a.m. Monday. We will adjust the timing as we get closer to the event.

Drier air returns by Monday afternoon, with mostly sunny and mild weather for Tuesday.
