An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player below. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

NO STORMS FOR A FEW DAYS: We are forecasting a clearing sky today, but the weather will be cooler with a high in the 60s. Then tonight, with a clear sky and diminishing wind, temperatures will drop quickly, and most places will be in the low 40s early tomorrow. Some of the colder valleys could reach the 30s, and you might even hear of a little scattered light frost. But, no serious issues for growers, and most everybody will be well above freezing.

TOMORROW THROUGH FRIDAY: Beautiful weather, with sunny days, clear nights, and a slow warming trend. Afternoon highs will rise back into the 70s by Thursday and Friday.

WHAT ABOUT THE WEEKEND: We will mention an outside risk of a shower Saturday afternoon; the best chance of those will be near the Mississippi border. Then, showers and storms are more likely statewide Saturday night and Sunday as the next trough comes through. At this point SPC does not have us in a severe weather risk, and the set up does not look favorable for a big severe weather problem, but considering the systems this season it will have to be watched as it gets closer. The rain will diminish by Sunday night.

LONG RANGE: Still some suggestion the primary storm track moves north later in the month; hopefully that will mean fewer severe weather events. That also means warmer temperatures as we get deeper into spring.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 30 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. You can even listen here on the blog; look for the player on the top left. We will record a new episode tonight; it should be posted by 10:30 or so.

TWITTER: Don’t forget, you can follow our news and weather updates from ABC 33/40 on Twitter here. And, my personal Twitter feed is here if you want to keep up with my adventures in life. Twitter is a short messaging service you can receive via the web, cell phone, or IM.

This morning I am speaking to the UAB International Women’s Group about severe weather… I will be back in the office by early afternoon, and the next Weather Xtreme video will be posted by 3:30. Enjoy the day!
