Freeze Warning Expanded In Time And Area

NWS Birmingham has extended the Freeze Warning for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lowndes, Marengo, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston counties until Friday morning at 9:00 am CST.

With the likelihood of freezing temperatures to spread areawide throughout the overnight hours, NWS Birmingham has expanded the warning to now include Barbour, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Elmore, Etowah, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Talladega, and Tallapoosa counties starting tonight at 10:00 pm CST until Friday morning at 9:00 am CST.

Lows are expected to be in the 25 to 32-degree range late tonight and through the overnight hours. These conditions will kill crops and other sensitive plants. Be sure to take the necessary action to protect those, along with bringing your pets indoors until temperatures become more suitable.

Freezing conditions are expected down to the beaches and NWS Mobile has issued a Freeze warning for Baldwin (Central and Inland), Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia, Mobile (Central and Inland), Monroe, Washington, and Wilcox counties for Friday starting at 2:00 am CST until 8:00 am CST.
