Happy Thanksgiving… Nice Weather At Midday

| November 22, 2018 @ 10:37 am

While we do have some cloud cover over Central Alabama at 10:30 am CST, temperatures are not too bad at this point. Readings from across the area are in the upper 40s to the mid-50s. Those clouds are expected to move out of the area and into Georgia before we reach sunset, and afternoon highs will be in the upper 50s to the lower 60s. Skies will be mainly clear throughout the evening and into the late night hours, with temperatures bottoming out in the upper 30s to the lower 40s.

Temperatures will drop down into the mid-30s to the lower 40s by the time we reach sunrise on Black Friday, but bargain-shopping will already be well in progress. Clouds will be on the increase throughout the morning hours but we’ll stay dry through noon. A few spotty to scattered light showers may be possible during the afternoon hours, but numerous showers will move in across the area at or just after sunset. Afternoon highs will top out in the 50s throughout the area. Showers will continue through the late night and the overnight hours, but should be out of Central Alabama well before we start to eat leftover turkey sandwiches on Saturday for lunch. Overnight lows will be in the mid-40s to the lower 50s.

By the time we reach Saturday afternoon, skies will be partly cloudy to mostly clear and no weather problems are expected for the big rivalry game of Alabama vs Auburn in Tuscaloosa. Afternoon highs will top out in the 60s throughout Central Alabama. Temperatures in Tuscaloosa at kickoff (2:30 pm CST) will be in the mid-60s and falling into the mid-50s by the 4th quarter. Skies will be mostly clear for the late night and into the overnight hours, and lows will be in the 40s.
