As of 1:30 pm across Central Alabama on this Black Friday, we have plenty of cloud cover blocking out any sunshine, along with a few light, spotty showers and sprinkles across the northern parts of the state along with the extreme southwestern parts of the area. Temperatures are in the upper 40s to the mid-50s, with Tuscaloosa taking the prize as the warm spot at 55 degrees. Birmingham was at 52 degrees.

Showers will be come likely from west to east later this afternoon and into the evening hours, and will remain likely through a good portion of the overnight hours. Highs will top out in the lower to the mid-50s, with lows dropping into the 40s.

Rain will clear out early on Saturday and skies will become partly to mostly clear by the afternoon hours. Highs will be really nice, topping out in the lower to the mid-60s throughout the area. No problems at Bryant-Denny for the big Alabama-Auburn game with kickoff at 2:30 pm CST. Temperatures will start off in the mid-60s at kickoff and fall into the lower 60s by the final whistle. The tropics look to become active for a little bit before we reach the last day of the Atlantic Hurricane Season. A non-tropical low is expected to form over the southwestern Atlantic by Saturday. It is expected to move east-northeastward and away from the US Mainland and may gain subtropical characteristics by the middle of next week.
