Gradual Afternoon Clearing

| November 24, 2018 @ 12:20 pm

It has been a cloudy and gray morning across the state, but the weather continues to improve this afternoon. We are seeing the sky gradually clear across the area and many areas are starting to see some sun.

Temperatures remain cool, but are on their way to warming into the upper 50s and lower 60s this afternoon.

Tonight will be calm night, but clouds will again increase overnight and temperatures will drop into the low to mid 40s. A few areas in the northeast may drop into the upper 30s.

FOOTBALL FORECAST: For the Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa (Auburn at Alabama… 2:30p CT kickoff)… the sky will be partly sunny. Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 60s at kickoff, falling into the low 60s by the final whistle. A very comfortable Saturday afternoon for late November.

UAB plays at Middle Tennessee State (2:00p CT kickoff in Murfreesboro)… the sky will be mostly cloudy, but no rain is expected. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s at kickoff, falling into the upper 50s by the second half.

Jacksonville State hosts East Tennessee State this evening at Burgess-Snow Field (6:30p CT kickoff); the sky will be mostly fair with temperatures falling from the upper 50s at kickoff into the mid 50s by the fourth quarter.

FOR SUNDAY: Tomorrow will start off dry with more sun than clouds. Through the day, clouds will be on the increase and we we will mention the chance of some scattered light showers by the afternoon and into the evening hours ahead of a cold front. Tomorrow will be a very mild day as highs climb in the 65-70 degree range.
