Tornado Watch Issued For Portions Of North/Central Alabama Until 7:00 PM Tonight

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Tornado Watch effective immediately for parts of North/Central Alabama through 7:00 pm this evening.

NWS Huntsville counties included in the tornado watch are Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Morgan.

NWS Birmingham counties included in the tornado watch are Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston.

A couple of brief spin-up tornadoes are possible in the watch area until 7:00 pm this evening. Along with the threat of a couple of tornadoes, there is a potential for isolated damaging wind gusts up to 70 MPH and some hail up to marble size.
