Areal Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Fayette, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Walker, And Winston Counties Until 12:45PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
    Northwestern Walker County in central Alabama…
    Marion County in northwestern Alabama…
    Northwestern Pickens County in west central Alabama…
    Winston County in northwestern Alabama…
    Fayette County in west central Alabama…
    Lamar County in west central Alabama…

* Until 1245 PM CST.

* At 942 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.
    Up to a half of an inch of rain has fallen and over an inch of rain is expected across most of the advisory area through 11 am.
    Already saturated grounds will cause additional rainfall to quickly run off and may create flash flood conditions, especially in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

    Hamilton, Winfield, Fayette, Haleyville, Carbon Hill, Vernon, Sulligent, Reform, Millport, Carrollton, Lynn, Pickensville, Guin, Hackleburg, Double Springs, Brilliant, Glen Allen, Kennedy, Detroit and Kansas.
