Significant Tornado Damage at Columbus MS; Tornado Now over Fayette County

Columbus MS has suffered significant damage from a torando that struck the city just after 5 p.m. this afternoon.

There is damage on the campus of Mississippi University for Women. There are confirmed injuries.

This storm is currently over Fayette County, north of Fayette. Be in a safe place as it approaches.

There has been a radar confirmed tornado in western Fayette County crossing AL-18 about 5 miles northwest of Fayette, near Mt. Vernon.
