Preliminary Report On Lee County Tornado… Rated EF3

From NWS Birmingham: We had someone on the ground in Lee County (CR 36 area) briefly before the sun went down. The first tornado to impact Lee County was at least an EF-3 and at least 1/2 mile wide… this is pending further & more detailed examination tomorrow. We have just gotten confirmation from Lee Co EMA of ‘at least’ 8 confirmed fatalities in Lee County.

Lee County Sherrif’s Department now confirming 14 dead in today’s tornado (from WSFA News).
