Areal Flood Advisory Issued For Parts Of Calhoun, Cherokee, Etowah, And St. Clair Counties Until 10:15PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for…
    Northeastern Calhoun County in east central Alabama…
    Eastern Etowah County in northeastern Alabama…
    Northern St. Clair County in central Alabama…
    Cherokee County in northeastern Alabama…

* Until 1015 PM CDT.

* At 710 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated clusters of showers and thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. These storms extended from
    St. Clair County eastward to Cherokee County. Heavy rainfall has already occurred in many of these same areas with one to locally 3 inches of rain already fallen in the advisory area. Additional rainfall will cause flooding of low lying and normal flood prone locations.

    Gadsden, Rainbow City, Attalla, Piedmont, Hokes Bluff, Centre, Cedar Bluff, Little River Canyon National Preserve, Forney, Centre
    Municipal Airport, Glencoe, Ashville, Steele, Leesburg, Reece City, Sand Rock, Gaylesville, Cherokee Rock Village, Pleasant Gap and
    Cornwall Furnace Park.
