Tornado Confirmed in Tuscaloosa County: Be in Safe Shelter Now! Heads Up Western Jefferson County Also

Updating this post frequently to give you the latest information as a tornado is moving through southern Tuscaloosa County toward western Jefferson County.

2:44: There was a confirmed tornado touchdown along US-82 in the Hagler Community.

2:43: The Tornado Warning is no longer in effect for Bibb County. It continues for a part of eastern Tuscaloosa County.

2:40: Tornado is moving toward Abernant now.

2:38: Tornado is passing near or just west of the Mercedes Plant.

2:36: Tornado is crossing US-11 now and will cross I-59/20 immediately after that.

A tornado debris signature is now indicated near US-82 southwest of Vance in southern Tuscaloosa County.

This indicates a tornado on the ground.

Debris is being lofted to 10,000 feet.

This tornado will impact Vance, Woodstock, Caffee Junction and Lake View. It is heading directly for the Mercedes Plant! Be off I-59/20 from Coaling to Bessemer.

The tornado will move into southwestern Jefferson County and toward North Johns, Hueytown, and Pleasant Grove.

The tornado warning does not include Tuscaloosa, Northport or the University of Alabama.
