With the surveys completed so far, a total of two confirmed tornadoes that touched down in the North Alabama region (NWS Huntsville), six confirmed that touched down in Central Alabama (NWS Birmingham), and one confirmed that touched down in Southwest Alabama (NWS Mobile) and moved into Central Alabama. Here is the list so far:

Two more survey teams are headed out to survey storm damage. The first team will be going to Tuscaloosa and Marion counties. The second team will be going to Perry and Hale counties, then to Marengo and Dallas counties if time allows. If not, another team will visit those two counties on Wednesday.

With these nine tornadoes added to the list for 2019, we are already up to 49 for the year. We have already surpassed the total of 46 from 2018. Here is the breakdown of tornadoes by EF Scale:

EF0 – 22
EF1 – 21
EF2 – 1
EF3 – 0
EF4 – 1
EF5 – 0

By this time in 2011, we were up to a total of 58 tornadoes across the state after the often forgotten outbreak of April 15th where we had 44 tornadoes on just that one day.
