Kansas Hail

Thanks to J.B. for relaying these images from D.L. Foley… he writes:

“Last night we had a bad hail storm. It was the size of baseballs, around 3 inches. It happened just before dark, so i went out and picked up a few. I put a dozen in the freezer in case I need to make an insurance claim. It sounded like people throwing hand grenades at the house and barn. The sound alone coming from the barn was deafening. Norma and I went to look at the damage this morning. The garden looks pretty good but there are holes in the roof of the barn. Don ‘t know how bad the house roof is yet. I guess it could have been worse. 50 miles from here they had grapefuit size hail. Here are a couple of pictures I took.”
