Heat Advisories Expanded Across North and Central Alabama

| August 11, 2019 @ 4:03 pm

NWS Offices in Birmingham and Huntsville have both issued new heat advisories for Monday, and the NWS in Birmingham has continued the one that was in effect for many of their South Central Alabama counties.

Here are the counties now covered by heat advisories across Alabama, as well as parts of adjoining Mississippi, Florida, and Georgia.

The darker red color is an excessive heat watch for northeastern Mississippi counties of the NWS in Memphis.

Be careful if you are working or laying outdoors in the heat. Take frequent breaks indoors in air conditioning. Keep yourself hydrated.

Check on neighbors who may have inadequate air conditioning or fans.

Remember pets and animals as well.
