Today’s forecast: 100% chance of fun and learning at WeatherReady Fest! Meteorologists from across the nation will gather for an epic community outreach event: Rocket City WeatherReady Fest 2019!

Join us between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at UAH’s Charger Union and Shelby Center for Science & Technology for the nation’s largest weather festival. From the savvy weather enthusiast to the novice learner, WeatherReady Fest will have fascinating learning opportunities for all levels and all ages. Come out early for James Spann’s book signing from 10 a.m. to noon.

Boost your weather IQ by hearing “How Weather Works” with Mike Mogil. Experience the power of wind by standing inside a wind-tunnel. Encourage young learners by singing along with Nick Walker from The Weather Channel. Sign up for the rare opportunity to tour the National Weather Service office in Huntsville and the Severe Weather Institute and Radar & Lightning Laboratories (SWIRLL) and climb in Storm Chasing & Research Vehicles. Be sure to complete designated activities in the Weather Passport to qualify for weather-related door prizes, which will be awarded throughout the day.

College football fans can rest assured that they can enjoy all things weather while keeping an eye on the game day action. “We’ll have the TVs on the football games in the Charger Union so nobody will miss a thing,” says Bill Murray, festival chair and president of The Weather Factory.

Additional details can be found on the festival website: www.weatherreadyfest.com. Admission to the WeatherReady Fest event is free. Guests are encouraged to get their free timed tickets at the website.
