Rain Could Be An Issue On Sunday At Talladega

| October 11, 2019 @ 11:21 am

Animated NAM-3K valid from 1:00 pm Friday to 7:00 pm Sunday.

WHAT TO EXPECT FOR THE REST OF TODAY
Temperatures will continue to warm nicely today topping out around 84 degrees at the track by late afternoon. Clouds will start moving in from the west bringing a little shade to the speedway, but no threat of rain until the overnight hours. Even then, chances of a shower passing over the speedway will be slim, but skies will be mostly cloudy. The low will be around 57 degrees.

SATURDAY AT THE SUPERSPEEDWAY
There will be a very small risk of a passing shower during the pre-dawn hours at Talladega, but the rest of your Saturday at the track will be dry and much cooler. Skies will be partly cloudy throughout the day with temperatures starting off around 59 degrees at 8:00 am and topping out around 71 degrees for the afternoon high. Winds will be out of the north at 5-10 MPH.

MAIN EVENT SUNDAY AT THE TRACK
A small-scale disturbance along with isentropic lift will bring a chance of rain at Talladega throughout the day. Unfortunately, those rain chances look to increase through the day and will max out at 60% during the afternoon hours. Looking at the latest run of the NAM, much of the shower activity will be along and north of the I-20 corridor, which would include the superspeedway. While it won’t be a whole-day rain event, a few showers may bring out the red flag for a bit. Temperatures will start off around 59 degrees at 8:00 am and warm to around 74 degrees for the high. Skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast and winds will be out of the west at 2-8 MPH.
