Sunny & Cool At Midday; Quick Peek At Saturday’s Weather For The Big Game

At 11:00 am this morning, we have mainly clear skies across much of Central Alabama with the exception of a few passing clouds over the east and southeastern parts of the area. Temperatures were in the 50s across the area. Birmingham was at 56 degrees. The warm spots were Demopolis and Montgomery at 59 degrees. Pell City was the cool spot at 50 degrees.

We’ll continue to have plenty of sunshine through the remainder of the daylight hours with highs reaching the lower to mid-60s across the area. For tonight, skies will be mainly clear through much of the late-night and overnight hours, but clouds will begin to increase from the west prior to sunrise. Lows will be in the mid-30s to the mid-40s.

Tuesday will start off dry but we could see some scattered showers move in over the northwestern parts of the area west of the I-59 corridor around midday. Those rain chances will continue through the afternoon and into the evening and late-night hours. Better rain chances will move in and will include much of the area during the overnight hours. Highs will be in the mid-60s to the lower 70s.

Just a quick peek at Saturday for the big matchup of Alabama vs. Auburn… skies will be mostly cloudy to overcast throughout the day in Auburn with a cold front approaching the area. The good news is that all rain should hold off until after the game is well over with. We’ll have nice temperatures with the high topping out in the lower 70s and only falling into the mid-60s by the final whistle. Remember, kickoff is set at 2:30 pm.
