Flash Flood Warning: Parts Of Colbert & Lauderdale Counties Until 8:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
South central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Southern Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 800 PM CST.

* At 501 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated an area of training
thunderstorms producing heavy rain stretching from near Cherokee
to the Florence area. Radar indicates 2 to 3 inches of rainfall
has already fallen over these areas. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Cherokee, St.
Florian, Underwood-Petersville, Malone, Posey Loop and Northwest
Alabama Regional Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
