Flash Flood Warning: Parts Of Colbert, Lauderdale, & Limestone Counties Until 9:00 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Limestone County in north central Alabama…
East central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Northern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 900 PM CST.

* At 607 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated an area of training
thunderstorms producing heavy rain stretching from near Killen to
Athens. Two to four inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly. An additional one to two
inches of rainfall is expected through 9 PM CST.

HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE…Radar Indicated.

IMPACT…Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other
drainage and low lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Athens, Rogersville, Ardmore, Killen, Town Creek, Leighton,
Courtland, St. Florian, Elkmont and Anderson.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
