NWS Huntsville Sending Out Team To Survey Storm Damage; Some Records Set On Sunday

Some storm damage occurred last night in Limestone County in North Alabama and the National Weather Service office in Huntsville will be sending out a team to survey the damage. The latest on NWS Chat shows the damage occurred just west of Athens just before 7:00 pm last night. Two mobile homes were damaged, along with roof damage to a gas station, roof damage to a garage, and a moving trailer rolled over. We should know the results later this afternoon.

As far as records set on Sunday, here is a list of what we have:

Huntsville set a new record high on Sunday, reaching 70 degrees. This breaks the old record of 69 degrees set back in 1923.

Muscle Shoals set a new record high on Sunday, reaching 73 degrees. This breaks the old record of 71 degrees set back in 1936.

Montgomery tied the record high on Sunday, reaching 77 degrees. This old record of 77 degrees was set back in 1971.

Tuscaloosa set a new record high on Sunday, reaching 75 degrees. This breaks the old record of 72 degrees set back in 1984.
