Wind Advisory Issued For Much Of Saturday For All Of Central Alabama

NWS Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory for all of the counties in their county warning area for Saturday from 12:00 am to 9:00 pm. Those counties are Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Blount, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Marion, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston.

Here is the text of the advisory from NWS Birmingham:

…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT FRIDAY NIGHT TO 9 PM CST SATURDAY…

* WHAT…South to southeast winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE…all of Central Alabama.

* WHEN…From midnight Friday night to 9 PM CST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects and blow down tree limbs. With saturated soils, weakened trees could also be knocked down. A few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.
