Noon Quick Peep at Alabama

* North one-third of Alabama remains rain free at high noon. Almost all showers and thunderstorms were south of Birmingham.

* Heaviest showers, along with some thunderstorms, were mainly south of Montgomery especially across Coffee, Geneva and Crenshaw counties. Movement of everything is generally east.

* Almost all the lightning was along the Alabama-NW Florida line.

* The South Alabama action is part of a longer west to east band of showers and thunderstorms stretching all the way from Louisiana eastward across South Mississippi and South Alabama into NW Florida.

* No warnings in South Alabama so far today but there were a number of Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and one Flash Flood Warning out of NWS, Tallahassee.

* NWS/SPC maintains a slight risk of severe weather this afternoon and tonight from SE Louisiana across the coastal sections of Mississippi/Alabama into NW Florida.l
