| January 19, 2020 @ 10:38 am

The cold front that moved through overnight last night is approaching Tallahassee late this morning. All of the rain is out of Alabama except for a couple of showers over the Wiregrass down near Dothan. The clearing line reaches from Camden in Butler County to Alex City in Tallapoosa County.

Temperatures have fallen into the 30s as far south as Shelby County, with 40s to the south. With lots of sunshine, they will recover into the 40s in most locations, although a few spots over the Tennessee Valley may remain in the 30s.

Tonight will be chilly, with lows in the 19-20F range across the Tennessee Valley, with lower 20s in places like Hamilton, Jasper, Cullman. Gadsden, Anniston, and Birmingham. Middle to upper 20s will prevail elsewhere.

Monday temperatures will struggle to get out of the 30s north of I-20, with lower and middle 40s across the remainder of Central Alabama. Monday night temperatures will even a few degrees colder, in the teens over North Alabama and lower 20s as far south as Shelby County. Middle 20s will prevail south to Montgomery.

Tuesday highs will be in the 40s over all of North and Central Alabama. 50s will return to much of Central Alabama on Wednesday, with 40s hanging tough over northern parts of the state. Mostly sunny conditions will prevail for Tuesday and Wednesday before a few clouds return for Thursday ahead of our next weather maker.

Rain will return late Thursday night into Friday. Rainfall amounts should range between 1 to 2 inches with the next system. No thunder is expected and no severe weather to deal with.
