Areal Flood Warning For Nearly All Of North Alabama Until 5:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Southwestern Jackson County in northeastern Alabama…
Marshall County in northeastern Alabama…
Madison County in north central Alabama…
Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama…
Limestone County in north central Alabama…
Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
DeKalb County in northeastern Alabama…
Cullman County in north central Alabama…
Franklin County in northwestern Alabama…
Morgan County in north central Alabama…
Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 530 PM CST Monday.

* At 1128 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will
cause flooding. 2 to 3 inches of rain have fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Huntsville, Decatur, Madison, Florence, Athens, Albertville,
Cullman, Hartselle, Fort Payne and Muscle Shoals.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area. This area will continue to be monitored for the
possibility of Flash Flood Warnings later on today.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
