Areal Flood Advisory For Parts Of Calhounm Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Randolph, St. Clair, Talladega Counties Until 6:30 AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Talladega County in east central Alabama…
Northwestern Randolph County in east central Alabama…
Chilton County in central Alabama…
Calhoun County in east central Alabama…
St. Clair County in central Alabama…
Cleburne County in east central Alabama…
Coosa County in east central Alabama…
Clay County in east central Alabama…

* Until 630 AM CST.

* At 235 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated a line heavy rain impacting
areas from Clanton to Anniston. This will cause urban and small
stream flooding in the advisory area due to recent heavy rainfall
over the past 12 to 24 hours. Additional rainfall over the next few
hours could lead to persistence in localized flooding.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Anniston, Oxford, Talladega, Sylacauga, Pell City, Jacksonville,
Leeds, Moody, Rainbow City, Clanton, Childersburg, Piedmont,
Springville, Odenville, Heflin, Jemison, Lineville, Ashland,
Wilsonville and Goodwater.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
