Flood Warning For Parts Of Colbert, Lawrence Counties Until 5:30 AM Wednesday

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
East central Colbert County in northwestern Alabama…
Northwestern Lawrence County in northwestern Alabama…

* Until 530 AM CST.

* At 1130 PM CST, emergency management reported flooding at the
intersection of 6th Street and County Road 268 in rural eastern
Colbert County near Town Creek.

Flood waters and higher levels along the Tennessee River is causing
flow to back up along Town Creek. Additional rainfall overnight may
help to exacerbate the flooding along Town Creek.

Town Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
